This position is responsible for developing and executing youth wellness strategies, in and outside of schools, across specified targets across the Dairy MAX region that increase dairy sales and school meal consumption. The position will leverage existing trust and sales programs (i.e., Nutrition NOW, Fuel Up) in order to collaborate with stakeholders to create unique solutions that drive sales.  

 

Sales is converting insights into action. We do that by leveraging our values to drive trust. The School Wellness Specialist must be able to foster relationships, provide solutions and influence decision makers to increase dairy within select targets. Additional strategic objectives include:  

  • Enhance and protect the image of dairy.    
  • Provide a positive return on investment to our dairy farm families.           
  • Collaborate with influential partners to amplify our impact.   
  • Create lifelong loyalty to dairy. 

Requirements

Develop, execute, and support regional sales strategies from start to finish in collaboration with Strategic Alliance Managers (65%)

  • Leads the execution of sales and marketing business plans to drive district engagement, grant implementation, operational support and data collection in order to achieve results-based performance objectives and goals towards dairy optimization and sales (e.g. increase breakfast or dairy related initiatives being implemented such as alternative breakfast models, coffee bars and/or smoothies).
  • Supports strategy development of the sales and marketing plans for assigned targets across the Dairy MAX region in collaboration with the sales manager; Actively uses data and shares recommendations and knowledge to stay forward thinking and innovative.
  • Actively tracks and monitors outcomes of sales and marketing business plans ensuring objectives are met. Works closely with the sales and territory managers to report results as needed, including a mid-year growth goal check-in as well as end of the school year reporting.
  • Responsible for completing daily reporting of target activities in Salesforce and utilizing School Marketing Access (SMA Database).
  • Establishes trust in dairy by building and maintaining long-term key business relationships (e.g. child nutrition directors, administrators, physical education coordinators) within targeted districts.
  • Utilizes Fuel Up to drive sales opportunities and build trust through student engagement initiatives such as NFL contests, player events, and other dairy education initiatives such as farm to school.
  • Maintains and applies a deep understanding of the dairy industry, school districts, child nutrition, and youth wellness and trends to keep business forward focused.
  • Works with leadership, Strategic Alliance Manager and cross department teams to update and/or develop new marketing and educational resources (e.g., posters, flyers, webinars, in person trainings) as needed targeted to school nutrition professionals, district administration, teachers, youth and/or parents.
  • Support organizational objectives and projects as needed (25%)
  • Collaborates with school marketing leadership and Strategic Alliance Manager to set team meeting agendas and other business as needed.
  • Participates through active engagement on weekly organizational and department meetings/activities
  • Attends in-person and virtual organizational and school marketing team meetings
  • Supports team culture and strategy initiatives while communicating and modeling the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Elevate dairy education and builds trust through key business partnerships (internal and external), supports conference strategies/logistics and leverages data and insights to achieve Dairy MAX goals (10%)

  • Leads regional partnership strategy planning, development and execution within assigned targeted districts (e.g., educational Service Centers/state agencies, SHACs, regional partnerships) to advance dairy education and strengthen district relationships to advance sales opportunities.
  • Support implementation of stakeholder initiatives such as school breakfast roundtables, professional development trainings, and dairy education efforts.
  • Leads conference logistical planning and supports implementation (e.g., exhibits, facilitating content, stakeholder conferences.) Supports alignment of sales strategy with conference objectives in collaboration with SM leadership and Strategic Alliance Manager to increase sales outcomes and build trust. Includes networking priorities, presentation content, proposals and key sales/trust messages.
  • Collaborates with school marketing leadership and sales manager to identify marketing and communication needs for the team and stakeholders.
  • Gathers, interprets and shares youth market data and insights along with state program data (e.g., enrollment, free and reduced %, ADP, etc.) in order to drive results, meet goals and evolve programing.

Associate’s Degree from accredited college or university in marketing, school communications, health promotion or school food service and/or nutrition

Required

Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in marketing, school communications, health promotion or school food service and/or nutrition 

Preferred

5+ years of experience in related fields or a combination of education, marketing and sales experience providing equivalent knowledge with Associate’s degree.

THE DEPARTMENT:

 

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Science is located within the Perkins College of Education. The primary purpose of the department is to prepare undergraduate students for careers in public health and kinesiology while offering graduate programs in athletic training and human performance studies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs an equivalent of twenty-four teaching load credits (TLC) for the combined fall and spring semesters; reduction of teaching load through reassignment of duties is possible under certain circumstances.
2. Engages in research/scholarly/creative and service activities at levels that are appropriate to faculty rank and departmental tenure/merit criteria.
3. Provides services to the university and the profession.
4. Participates in promotion review of lower-ranked faculty members within the department.

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have:

·         A terminal degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.

·         Extensive knowledge in Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) as well as experience developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in PETE and Kinesiology.

·         Prior certified public school teaching experience at the K-12 level.

·         Experience incorporating program learning outcomes in courses as part of a PETE program assessment and data collection plan for accreditation purposes.

·         Participated in scholarly activities and departmental, college, university, and community service activities while staying current in the field through participation in professional organizations, conferences, and continuous professional development.

·         Conducted research in Kinesiology, Physical Education, and/or a health-related area/discipline. Publishes findings in peer-reviewed journals and secures internal and external grant funds for research projects.

·         The potential to coordinate the K-12 teacher certification program in PETE to support and maintain continued national accreditation.

Established in 2004, The Beecher’s Foundation has turned over 250,000 students into Food Detectives through its interactive and impactful in-class workshop designed for 4th graders.  We believe all kids should be equipped with skills to help see through marketing messages so they can make smart choices when it comes to food.  

The Regional Growth Representative is a part-time, seasonal role through June 2025, within the Beecher’s Foundation, focused on driving the next phase of growth for the Foundation as we strive to reach every 4th grader in the nation. The Regional Growth Representative is responsible for prospecting, cultivating, and securing elementary school and district partners throughout the state of Texas in alignment with our program goals.

This position is fully remote, with potential travel within Texas and possible weekend regional event attendance. The role will work closely with the Director of Growth to ensure customer satisfaction, set regional sales and marketing strategies, develop KPIs, and measure ROI. This is a unique sales role rooted in a mission-driven, non-profit environment.

Job Responsibilities: 
•    Strategic Planning: In partnership with the Director of Growth, develops prospecting and recruitment strategies aligned with programming objectives. 
•    Recruitment:  Researches, pitches and closes new districts and schools with the goal of driving exponential program growth in their region.

Compensation:
